Is the butterfly motif a brooch? What is it made of, and how did you get that gradient
So you say, her top is basically a very detailed shirt with big sleeves?
How did you also attach the criss-cross of ribbons around that sleeve too?
Yep, it's a brooch! I used two separate sheets of craft foam in blue, and then I lightly added light blue paint to do the gradient effect. The gem in the middle was just something I found online. If you're feeling up to it, you can try doing resin casting, which I just attempted myself. There's a tutorial for it here: [link]
I seem to do puffy sleeves on accident because my non-puffy sleeves end up being a little puffy. XD I generally use patterns I find in JoAnn along with tutorials on the web. The important part of puffy sleeves is gathering the fabric. Here's one of many tutorials. [link] And there's lots on youtube! I relied on my mom for help.
For the ribbon, I just crisscrossed it one piece at a time, sewing the ends on to the shirt, and then I carefully sewed the long pieces over the ends of the crisscrossed pieces.
I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you need anything clarified.
