Here's my Cheria cosplay! I debuted it at Otakon with a group of friends for our rockin' Tales of Graces costumes, but I never really got many pictures of it, so I had a wonderful photoshoot when I brought it to AUSA with me.

Hi again, I am leaving my comments/questions here since there's a photo of your cosplay in better detail and it's really accurate! :) It sound simple but I bet your probably had to put alot of hours into, I really want to know in hopes to get similiar results ^_^

Is the butterfly motif a brooch? What is it made of, and how did you get that gradient :D
So you say, her top is basically a very detailed shirt with big sleeves? :D Is there a particular pattern that you use? I was at a loss at how to do that 'puffy sleeve' effect you have on your shoulders?

How did you also attach the criss-cross of ribbons around that sleeve too? :) Thank you, I am really grateful that you can help me out >w< since I can't really find many good Cheria cosplayers.

No problem!

Yep, it's a brooch! I used two separate sheets of craft foam in blue, and then I lightly added light blue paint to do the gradient effect. The gem in the middle was just something I found online. If you're feeling up to it, you can try doing resin casting, which I just attempted myself. There's a tutorial for it here: [link]

I seem to do puffy sleeves on accident because my non-puffy sleeves end up being a little puffy. XD I generally use patterns I find in JoAnn along with tutorials on the web. The important part of puffy sleeves is gathering the fabric. Here's one of many tutorials. [link] And there's lots on youtube! I relied on my mom for help.

For the ribbon, I just crisscrossed it one piece at a time, sewing the ends on to the shirt, and then I carefully sewed the long pieces over the ends of the crisscrossed pieces.

I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you need anything clarified.
